For me a typical New York high-rise style, but from the beginning until today only the view of the facade division into base, middle part, roof and the top.
Street facades are artistic, the back is kept simple (aluminum facade).

Right. That’s beautiful stuff. And we continue to lose great old buildings as the LPC refuses to protect them. That part of the NYC government is often disfunctional.

In 1900 the Tribune Building was by no means the tallest building in the neighborhood. from the collection of the Library of Congress.
Looking at that overhead shot makes me think that it would really suck Dick
Cavett if the developer of 417 does not acquire 405 and the little building in between them.
