Excavation photos by Michael Young
It’s not going to win any beauty contests.
Two months ago it was at the podium level but two months later facade is starting to rise.
The jury is still out.
I passed by this last week and it was glistening in the sun.. definitely attracts the eye! Couldn’t snap a photo unfortunately. I don’t know how I feel about the building overall yet, the jury is indeed still out as NeverForgive says. I little embellishment around the stark windows, or even just a tiny, simply cornice would go a long way I think. But it was quite interesting nonetheless and I always appreciate bold decisions in design instead of watered down designs that are the lowest common denominator.
Yikes a monster from outer space!
Those window frames ruin an otherwise beautiful terracotta facade
I’ve found many of Selldorf’s projects to lack a sense of joy—they often feel quite stark:
I refer to Selldorf’s aesthetic as “Prison Chic”.
Yes the window frames bother me so much ![]()
That’s the finished frame?
