I think that the time is right. This will take years to demolish and build. As noted, this is one of the most prime sites in the world and will attract unprecedented demand.
Something big needs to go here, but not right now. The important thing is establishing some context around this side first before moving on this. Too many empty sites.

I suspect that Witkoff will sit on this for a while, but within ten years, something hyper-luxurious will rise here. This site is way better than everything that has been built on 57th St.
It’s a shame the area with the most expensive urban real estate in the country smells like the south end of a northbound horse.
I really don’t understand the horses, or see how things can continue on like this for much longer. I was walking through the park yesterday, and besides the obvious poop everywhere (and stench), I noticed that many of the carriages are just empty - horses and their handlers riding around the park pooping, without any paying passengers.
I can’t see how that’s a sustainable business model, nor can I imagine that the businesses along Central Park South are fond of the horse poo factory across the street.
