1500, or 1600 feet? Might aswell overtake 1WTC at that point

When will the ULURP process end?

It is currently undergoing city council review which ends Oct 6th, and the process should end soon after with the mayoral review. Overall a final decision should be made in early/mid October.

I think the project has a high chance of being approved.

Approval Oct 2025 - demolition spring 2026 - foundation by fall/winter - early 2027 the main structure starts climbing.

Will be interesting to see potentially 5-10 super talls climb up by 2030 after this brief respite. 175 park, Torch, 625 Madison, 655 Madison, abc hq, maybe HY2 and 2WTC too, all simultaneously.

Honestly, I’d take 175 park alone, the rest are treats.

Your confidence for 2 WTC is inconceivable. I had that confidence once…years ago

More than a “high chance", it’s a guarantee.

Park Lane Hotel redevelopment, 41 W 57th, Roosevelt Hotel, and 250 Park as well. Probably many that we are missing.

There are already several buildings taller than 1WTC. Why not one more?

If the ULURP sleeve remains unchanged from what was initially filed, no part of this building can be built above 1586’. It’s also unusual for the envelope height to change from the initially filed number.

Vornado-Rudin-Griffin partnership gets green light for 62-story Midtown tower

Lawmakers voted unanimously to approve plans for the 62-story tower, to rise at 350 Park Ave., proposed by Vornado Realty Trust, development firm Rudin and Griffin.

Griffin’s firms, Citadel and Citadel Securities, would be the tower’s anchor tenants, occupying at least 850,000 square feet of the roughly 1.7 million-square-foot skyscraper, said Barry Langer, head of development at Vornado, during a presentation on the tower for the council last month.

Demolition would break ground in the second quarter of next year, with the new building expected to come online in 2032.

Some expected, but very welcome, news! I’m very excited to watch this rise.

Good to see this one advancing. Second tallest for the city. Hopefully someone proposes something even taller!

and you know they have the financing….

I just hope they revise the design. The most recent one we’ve seen looks very… bland. Like Foster copied their 270 Park design but made it worse

Yes I couldn’t place it until now but going from the first design which was cool with all the angles and double spires to this one felt like that one SpongeBob episode where he’s all curvy.

I actually really like its simplicity. It soars, almost blade of grass into the sky. Id imagine it being an intimidating contrast/compliment to 270 Park with its blue glass vs the brownish/black of 270.

The Park avenue supertall cluster is gonna be covered in Imperial monoliths.

The new design is nice and has potential. 350 also better outdo 270 in regards to lighting. A monolith such as this deserves epic lighting.
