This tower is ok. It’s a box with ornamented façade at the top. I wish it had setbacks and more of a nice form. Rose Hill nearby is the best of the crop in this area.
This building is super skinny, like two townhouses thick.
I know. My company’s NY office is nearby.
I only hope Rose Hill follows suits and covers its blank wall as nicely as Adjmi does here.
Abu Dhabi is the first thing that comes to my mind with this one.
This building is just stupid.
Odd observation. If there’s a building anywhere in Abu Dhabi with this rough urban form, I would sure like to see it. Abu Dhabi is basically Dallas in urban form.
I like this building.
I think. this is ok. It’s certainly infinitely better than a Kaufman hotel.
Agreed

The mechanicals at the top are turning my stomach! this is becoming a real blight on NYC! Why aren’t the people trying to stop skyscraper development in NYC more focused on making sure the skyscrapers that do go up are beautiful?
Because there’s no $ in that.
There also is no legal theory against ugliness unless the building is landmarked or in an historic zone.
I don’t know what you mean by “urban form”, but the gothic/lancet arches are a recurring feature used in Islamic inspired architecture. I remember seeing a lot of these similar features in medium-sized buildings in both downtown Dubai and Abu Dhabi. I don’t have any pictures of them to show, as I’m not particularly a fan of this kind of theme. The Tower in Dubai is another example.
The Tower, that’s another ugly building. " There’s no accounting for taste said the milkmaid as she kissed her cow". haha
