Really like the brickwork and color variations.
Morris Adjmi Architects does great low-rise buildings
The brickwork on this facade is flawless. I presume these are the usual ‘brick panels’ and not traditional hand laid individual bricks; yet there is no sign of the seams-between-panels that are all too obvious on many new construction projects.
Lovely looking building; and exceptional quality trade/construction work…
Nice to see…
BTW - Something I stated above got me thinking. Hope you enjoy this bit of off-topic info.
These are hand laid bricks, the scaffolding that was covering the building is an indicator of that (there was no mobile crane to lift panels and they wouldn’t have been accessible to the structure due to the scaffolding) and the other indicators such as steel lintels and brick wall tiebacks. The presence of flashing at each floor is also an indicator.
The troweling of the mortar is also messy in some places, which wouldn’t happen with panelized brick facades because they are set in concrete and/or just printed brick stamps in concrete/cast in place formwork.
Good to know. That looked too good to be true…
I realize this photo may have been a clue: the photo of REAL brick from above in this thread. Always good to be enlightened on these projects.
Wow, its been a long time coming
