I’d take a piece too, I wish I knew who to bribe to get me a piece.
Can anyone shop a spire on the model of the building? I wanna see what it would look like with one
The spires look good. Usually I like ‘bracing’ on buildings but not this one.
I think the issue with the bracing is how they are positioned. I think it would look better if they were large X formations and not diamonds.
Video I made with current midtown projects. Hyatt model has been updated to be a closer estimate of what it will look like with ~2m square feet:

Just to let you know, your One Vanderbilt model is backwards and one of the faces has to be pushed out from the last crown section
Yeah I was kind of freeforming it when I built the model. I’ll update for the next video

You can see they demolished the roof equipment that was surrounded by scaffolding
the crane pictured below was lifting dirt out of what must be a very deep hole. Fully extended the bucket barely cleared the ground.
by atchain. Noticeable differences, perhaps an older iteration? STILL — ATCHAIN
I only count 8 sections across, there should be 9. Unless one section is behind the smaller building
For several reasons, I suspect that the model which Yimby posted is more recent than this. First, the specific base which was shown to the city last spring is missing here.
Further, this site has an old and rejected version of the proposed Chicago Tribune Tower. There also are many pie in the sky models for the NY PA site on 42nd Street, which sadly, won’t be built. (Unfortunately, NY is more focused on providing absurd pensions and unparalleled Medicaid benefits than it is on rebuilding its broken infrastructure.)
I agree. I just wrote the same thing simultaneously with your comment.
