NEW YORK | 270 Park Ave | 1,389 FT | 70 FLOORS

to be pedantic, It’s a park in Battery Park City, not in Battery park.

We’re still about a year away from this opening, correct?

Apparently it’s due to welcome its first set of workers later this year.

I believe I saw somewhere that the first wave of workers start in August  That’d mean it should be externally finished by the summer :star_struck:

Biggest/best addition to the NYC skyline since 1WTC?

Maybe after One Vanderbilt and Central Park Tower.

I know I’m probably in a minority, but I have never liked 1WTC. The top is a mess. And so is the base. Like its predecessor it is unfriendly at street level. The facade’s shape is somewhat interesting with its slope and triangular shapes. But its biggest draw is simply its size. I like 3WTC much more and hope for a good design for 2WTC.

I swear I’m not taking another picture of this building until that elevator comes down

The facade work has slowed down glacially.

A lot of people dislike the “Timid Tower” aka 1 WTC.

Seems to be taking a bit longer than expected to get the last two tiers finished, but at least this will be the last year that construction elevator will be up! :star_struck:

While it seems like facade installation’s moving slowly, there’s a 1 Vanderbilt cam that has a view of the southern side of 270 Park Ave. There’s a lot of interior work going on so it seems like they’re focused on interior work and having it ready for employees moving in.

Since its different trades working on the exterior and interior, one isn’t necessarily affecting the other.

They’re working on the interior before the exterior is finished because theyre trying to get a temporary certificate of occupancy (or they already have it) to allow workers to start working in the building before it is officially complete. This is the case for a lot of recently completed projects in NY.

Ngl I want to get a job at JP Morgan so I can work here… on the other hand I’m too spoiled by my hybrid schedule. Dimon doesn’t seem to like that these days

They did this with the Sears tower too.

Theat one panel in the 2nd to last photo is darker than the others. That is very OCD-triggering.

Some really great photos as of late, so thank you for these updates!! :star_struck: I’m wondering if they have a way of verifying the lights are working without actually illuminating them, as otherwise they’re confident they’ll be all working (or they’re easy to replace)

However, the canopy over the entrance looks really slick! With those vertical panels up in the first pic, you really can get a feel for how it’ll look finished! This is gonna be a dazzler all day & night!

And @ALC11 Let’s hope that’s just some placeholder…? :grimacing:
