NEW YORK | 270 Park Ave | 1,389 FT | 70 FLOORS

It’s really only ever been visible on drone footage (close up at least), but one could still pinpoint it on long range photos if you try really hard.

Here it is even more wrapped up after it was lifted to L56 during/from the ceremony.

And here it is after it was installed.

So in the end it wasn’t installed anywhere special.

Still, great spotting! Even though its wrapped, I still want to attempt to catch it

Nr 6 is my favorite. Nice job catching all those towers in one shot (including a.o. Chrysler, WTC1, ESB, MW1+2, Hudson Yards). @NewYorkCity76

I’m glad work on this was paused in consideration of my being out of town ; ).
Please excuse the jetwash and other optical distortions.

Thank you! Cityscape shots like these made me love photography even more (NYC is how I even started pursuing photography in the first place lol)!

Just noticed that a site @Mackensen sourced shows an up to date rendering of 270 Park Avenue

Original

Final

Also there’s this

Noticed that too! Though I believe the image in the L. Siffredi page is actually the older of the two – particularly the layout of the mechanical floor louvres is different from the final result, with one glazed ‘bay’ at each edge of the north and south faces:

That layout is similar to this early design from the structural analysis document:

@ThreeWentDown is correct, the render from the portfilio is an older version. All the DBOX renders that were released at once to the public are all the most UTD renders, they supersede any other renders.

You can also tell its old because of the small fins in each bay of the N/S facades arent as they appear in real life as the official render depicts.

But the fourth tier is shown to have four large mechanical levels under the tenant space, which doesnt line up with those older diagrams. That’s why I thought it was new, but I can also see the skylights copy and pasted on each terrace as well

I think @ThreeWentDown was referencing the old structural/elevation diagrams for reference to the location of the mechanical louvers, and not so much the outdated structure layout.

It is “new” in the sense that it is newer than TTs Structural Report diagrams, but its not as new as DBOXs official renders.

Looks like they started adding glass to the base on the north side

Yep @The_Don

They started putting it up last week! I never got around to posting these, I imagine there’s more put up than when I took these last week.

There were a lot of the metal backup pieces waiting to be installed on the East and South sides of the building.

I imagine that what is left of the safety cocoon will be taken down soon so that the fireproofing can continue for the rest of the building.
