The circular form of the conference areas come through nicely in those shots too.

That and all the shots from One Vanderbilt show how the “core” has been built out with CMU blocks.

Funny how your comment is actually becoming true

Nice! The tower is probably around 1295ft now

It has a really really nice zooming capability for a live camera, otherwise when it’s just in full view/no zoom mode sometimes the quality is just potato!

@5Bfilms I’m not going out today, (or atleast I dont want to, got off work at 1:30AM and went to sleep at like 5 ) it’s up to you now . But I will go out tomorrow morning. I “do” have a few more hours of daylight that would allow me to get pics/updates but i dont want to deal with the mid-daytime crowds.

@NewYorkCity76 that is correct! Under 100’ left now until T/O!

I was on my way in around noon today and stopped to take a photo of the Concord (scale replica model?) sitting in the Brooklyn Navy Yard. The ferry was 10 minutes early and so already sitting at the dock so my photo opportunity cost me. Having missed my ride, I turned back. A long cold wait and thoughts of the holiday crowd did me in for the day.

Sorry, not exactly the hi-res image you were looking for.

Oh nono! That’s the actual Concorde plane that is on display at the Intrepid Museum, it was taken to the Navy yard sometime in August for restoration. It looks pretty spick and span now! Last I saw was that it’d be returning to Intrepid some time in the Spring of next year.

Pishposh, updates are updates! This is just another confirmation that the crown steel has begun. :+1: You got some nice photos of the Concorde though. If it makes you feel better my images probably won’t be hi-res either, not to your typical photo quality atleast.

So looks like I was missing more than an e. They used to have one on display over the Brewery in Times Square like 25 years ago:

If it wasn’t for the people, at first glance, I thought that would’ve been a shot of a diorama it looks real but also fake (the overall photo). I had forgotten that it was just taken to the Navy Yards so I don’t blame you for thinking it wasn’t the real thing lol.

This…! Sometimes before I go through the turnstiles at the subway when I’ve gone out these past few holiday weeks/weekends I seriously question if I want to deal with the crowds. That’s the reason I didn’t see this building last weekend, by the time I got past “traffic” it was dark and photos wouldn’t have done good to show progress. The sun being up for 2 hours also doesn’t help.

yeah, such a short window if you don’t head out early. That shot was taken w/a 5x7 view camera so the movements lend to that effect. I was trying to do large format street work in the late 1990s and couldn’t really make it work. Plus the film was expensive and I had no money.

I was in the area because a family member wanted to see the Rockefeller tree and Times Square (not fun) so I managed to get a couple quick shots of 270 at night with my phone. The 1st image shows the steel for the last setback as well. I was dodging a bunch of people so I apologize for the poor quality of these images as I didn’t have my camera with me or much time to compose my shots.
