Nice!!!
Something like that, but the 4th tier is more rectangular than square in profile, still pretty accurate though.
Thanks for that! In some angles, the top tiers appear to get more square than rectangle (as shown in this render), but I realize it’ll likely depend on where it’s being viewed at.
Indeed it is a factor of what angle it is being viewed at, the 4th tier is actually almost a perfect square in plan and the height of it is nearly equal to the diagonal of the square, which is why it looks like a cube, but from the side, it has a ratio of approximately 1:1.5
Notice the BMU track on the eastern terrace, looks like they will go into the building. Hopefully they won’t stick out like the Comcast Technology Center 's BMU
They will be hidden away inside the building on the 2nd,3rd, and 4th tiers (the sole purpose of putting the mech floors at each setback), but Im not sure on the 1st setback since there is an office floor at the setback level separating it from the mech floor above.
I had a nice view of 270 from this roof terrace on Houston Street today. I will try to post some more progress pic over the next few months before I leave this particular job site; this apartment is getting several sail shades, and retractable awnings installed on three different terrace levels.
I thought this was a serendipitous opportunity to post a photo from my current job site…
This is a nice vantage point seeing the building rising in the background, towering over all the smaller buildings on the lower east side. This location is Avenue D, and Houston Street.
Only one more floor of cladding to reach the setback, very much looking forward to the cap cladding on the setback.
Thanks for making that “pilgrimage”. Clear, crisp, vivid photo of a small detail: amazing. The architectural details on this curtain wall quite intricate. Nice shot…
Can anyone tell me the material being used and the finish being applied?
The photo looks similar to the non-directional copper nickel I’ve seen.
I wonder if this façade would have been the same if the Copper buildings development on 35-36th and 1st hadn’t happened. It has that varying appearance quality which 111 W57th also has despite the latter being terracotta.
