Who knows? Im more optimistic— they built 70 Pine and ESB during the depths of the ‘29 crash…

I don’t really like this. It seems out of place in the way it cucks everything else but maybe it’ll grow on me.
A fantasy of mine would be a tower of this height or higher replacing Home Insurance Plaza and that defaced art deco building on John.
I agree. I hate that pos.
990 ft version

oh no, the 270 park avenue ersatz is just terrible here…
they should go with the slender version
I wonder if the guys over at Howard Hughes look at these threads for our renders so they themselves don’t have to pay for them
The physical 3D model provides a fantastic representation of not only the design of the building options; but helps explain how FAR zoning regulations work so well to keep air circulation and light penetration reaching the streets. I like the Tall thin building on a base/podium best. This model is impressive for its illustrative power: quite something special.
So, is this the design that they plan to build? I hope that the jackasses in the area don’t kill it.
P.S.: Macklowe and So Low should build towers of this caliber.
Ok, this I might actually like. I didn’t think most of the cladding would be brick, but it’ll definitely stand out
Sweet baby Jesus, over 1000 ft!
A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one
This is good. The narrower it is, the less it blocks views from the Southbridge towers, which is where most of the opposition is coming from. Of course they’ll still go bonkers over it and try to block it, but a narrow tower makes their argument weaker.
