NEW YORK | 175 Park Avenue (Grand Hyatt) | ~1,646 FT | 95 FLOORS

You’re probably right that there will be some sort of bar/restaurant that comes with the hotel, which would otherwise be somewhat hard to argue that there wouldn’t be one.

It’s probably allocated on one of the hotel floors similar to how other setups are at other hotel properties around the city but the usage just wouldn’t change on the list for it.

This article is also about a 70-story project near Hudson Yards, but I can’t read the article.

I don’t get it sorry, wasn’t this one already approved?

Approved by city council, but demo and construction permits still need to be approved by DoB.

Edit: to add, has the building scope grown? Even if it’s gross square ft 3.2M is more than was previously disclosed. That’s ~3/4 of a twin tower!

The plans detail a project a dozen stories taller than the previously reported 83-floor count. It would span nearly 3 million square feet, mostly covered by office space and hotel rooms filling out the top floors. There would also be floors for bike storage, retail space and a bar. Construction is expected to start in the next few months, according to a spokesperson for RXR.

I don’t really care how tall a skyscraper is, but when it comes to 175 Park Ave., I’m still hoping for a maximum height of 1,600 feet (500 meters).

It should be the tallest in the U.S. tbh but thats a bit of a stretch

Go big or go home energy that’s been sorely missing in a lot of projects. I love it

I’m honestly fine with this being cut in half because of the proximity of an iconic landmark. But I’m no architect, I don’t work with the DOB or FAA so I guess I have no say

remember, stories dont equal height. stories is a marketing concept.

I put that rendering on Wikimedia Commons as a royalty-free image for the proposal, it’s really cool to see it used in these articles! Though chances are that the info in those articles ironically makes my rendering outdated now

Any idea when the hotel would close? Bookings still extend to the end of the year—well past when construction is meant to begin.
