It was explained somewhere for some reason it’s cheaper construction to build straight up like this. Deblob mentioned something about this years ago but as usual has done nothing to stop it.

Not terrible. But the setback of this and so many other recent designs does not please me. It downgrades the streetscape and the lineup of facades that provides so much interest to walking around in this place.

I like the glass cladding on this one. It’s very textured. It’s better than the junky garbage on the right.

I agree. So much better than the recent run of awful small hotel buildings.

Following additional research, it seems this hotel won’t open until September at the earliest.
