Meet Melody, Arsht Center’s New Neighbor

Cesar Pelli’s $450 million Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts will soon have a new neighbor, courtesy of Melo Group.

Miami’s Planning Department is now reviewing plans for a 497-unit residential tower called Melody that will neighbor the performing arts center. The residential unit count is the maximum permitted under zoning code.

Melody is proposed to be built at 245 NE 14th Street, on land that Melo bought last year for $9.5 million. The tower will rise 36 floors, or 467 feet. It will include 591 parking spaces – fewer than normally required, thanks to Miami 21 waivers. Also included: about 10,000 square feet of commercial space.

Melo’s Melody Tower Breaks Ground

One short week or so after receiving approval from the Urban Development Review Board, even though they weren’t exactly satisfied with the aesthetics, the Melo Group’s Melody has broken ground across the street from the Arsht Center.
