Crappy photos I took today. I will say that the Journal Square node along with the JC waterfront boom is really fusing the skyline from Midtown to Lower Manhattan to look like one uniform blob from West NJ to East NJ.
Target is open on the ground level. And the view from the back… What a wasted opportunity to engage this cool corridor - hopefully when they renovate/redevelop the Pathside building they do something interesting here.
What up with the barebones interior? It looks more like Costco than a Target store. Yuck ![]()
Yes. It looks extremely bad.
Yes, it’s like some temporary pop-up. They could have at least painted the ceilings. I assume they wanted to open ASAP meaning less costs directed towards the finishes.
Target is not doing well financially.
Heard it’s now officially completed, would that be correct?
There hasn’t been signs of construction in almost a year, so I’d say so
It would have looked much better with dark glass. At least then the ptac’s would have mostly disappeared. This project is just not architecturally pleasing in any way, unless height is all you need to do it for you.
If you love boring blue boxes it’ll do it for you
Easing pressure on housing prices is another thing it does, and that’s not affected by how it looks.
