Is this place still sitting empty due to the county-state feud?

Are they really opening it this month?

The whole “grand opening” last weekend turned out to be an elaborate hoax. There is still no move-in date, and we are no closer to having an operational courthouse than we were one year ago.

The event has to do with the fact that Mr Guarini is 101 years old, and like the rest of us, he is not getting any younger. It is hard not to conclude that they staged a “ribbon-cutting” to convince the centenarian that the building has opened for business. If you ask me, this is borderline elder abuse.

Frank Guarini Jr. died a few days later, so that was probably why they rushed the ribbon-cutting.

Honestly, the ribbon cutting scene looks pretty exploitative to me. For all we know, wheeling him down there for show is what killed him.

They should have put sunglasses on him like Weekend at Bernie’s.
