The skyline definitely needs some bulk west of Sears. Ideally this would be the catalyst to create a wave of future height and density in the southwest portion of downtown. Unfortunately at Chicago’s current rate of building beyond 700/800’ this will be the tallest tower in this area for decades to come before another developer has the ambition and vision to build something iconic to surpass it.

The glass on this building looks to be high quality. I wish the angles were as dramatic as the UChicago Law Shool Building but this looks light years beyond 110 N. Wacker and the rest of the recent river towers. Up close the details will provide a needed change but from a distance we know how those design elements become washed out.
