300 N Michigan Avenue, a ground-up, 47-story tower developed by Sterling Bay and Magellan Development Group, is located on one of the Chicago’s most sought-after blocks of real estate just south of the world-famous Magnificent Mile. Designed by bKL Architecture, the striking 523-foot glass structure includes 25,000 square feet of premium retail topped by 280 hotel rooms and 289 residential units. Situated just blocks from several of Chicago’s most visited tourist attractions including the recently revitalized Chicago Riverwalk and Millennium Park’s world famous Cloudgate, 300 North Michigan Avenue presents an exciting opportunity to residents and retailers who want to be at the center of one of the City’s top entertainment, shopping, dining and cultural destinations.

If that bracing would have been repeated throughout the design at intervals of every 10 floors or so all the way up the tower with a decorative crown it would have been a spectacular building.
Judging by the last decade and the looks of future proposals we may never see extravagance in our architecture again.
