I estimate that they are near the final height of the core.

“From the airport this past weekend. The building dominates from this vantage point.”

Imagine telling someone in 1990 or 2000 that Austin would have the tallest building in Texas

Do you guys think that Dallas or Houston could build a tower nowadays that could surpass this?

Easily. They’ve always been able to.

But they won’t because there is no desire for it in Dallas or Houston. The big companies prefer their sprawling office parks and the residents prefer SFH.

It’s a miracle that Austin is getting what it’s getting tbh.

Well Houston was supposed to have a stunning supertall. No doubt someone will buy that same lot build something tall…I hope

Exactly  Living in the DFW area since 2010, there’s been tons of new low/mid-rise developments but hardly anything that drastically changes the skyline. It’s nice that there’s a lot less gaps driving down I-35 in Dallas, but the skyline could always be taller :star_struck:

The core has already reached or is slightly past the start of the crown level, so less than 100. Somwhere between 50-70’.

So what was the 1,265 foot figure? The height of the crane?

Yes, The ATX’s tweet that was shared was in reference to an updated FAA filing for the crane height.
