Is this building visible on any webcam yet?

Yes! On YouTube there is a livestream called “Times Square: Express View Live”. You can only barely see the first several floors of the Torch though (as of today). It is behind the Marriott Marquis. (In the past viewers could see more floors.)

Edit: It can best be seen at daytime.

Good chance this one tops before next winter.

I feel that’s definitely possible as the majority of the building consists of roughly the bulky bottom half. It already looks to be close to 200’ tall, so I’d guess it’ll get to the “neck” (or whatever the lower part should be called) before the summer when it should take a lot less time per floor leading up to the top of the torch

the neck should hopefully be quick, but the real question is how long the top… bulb(?) will take

Neck :joy:

Since the top portion has been significantly simplified it shouldn’t take nearly as long as before with the initial design.

However, the cantilevered nature of the structure making up the top will still slow things down once the core reaches that point.

Can’t believe they kept those three old ugly buildings at the bottom. Should have bought them out

Those buildings are far more handsome than this tower will ever turn out to be

Those little pieces of junk are not exactly Penn Station or the Flatiron building.

They sell worthless trinkets to tourists and have owners more greedy than a casino manager. Their survival is cause for despair. #ExpandtheUseofEminentDomain
