NEW YORK | 740-750 8th Ave | 1067 FT | 52 FLOORS

is there workers on the site?

I think it was @JRF that previously mentioned that work would be put on hold after the foundation was done, I believe the reasoning was that Extell was still looking for a hotel operator.

It is sad. It seems like there is construction slow down in NYC.

NYC just went through a 20 year renaissance. A lot of new supertalls! Of the top 20 tallest in NYC all have gone up since 2007 with the exception of ESB and Chrysler! It was gonna slow down eventually

Yaeh, I am not complaining, but on the other hand I kind of got used to monitoring multiple big skyscrapers going up at the same time in NYC over last decade or so…now it seems that after 270 park avenue is done there will be little bit of void.

Supply and demand are always cyclical. It takes a while for one to catch up to the other, especially in construction with long lead times.

I hate seeing massive holes/construction pits with little or no activity, especially in a location like this. Hopefully this starts up soon.

Hopefully while this is on hold the developer can acquire those last three properties along 8th Avenue.

And with any luck it will be redesigned.

I thought this was part of the high-rise development site.

Nope, the tower footprint and property line stops at the O’Casey’s bar building (Lot 57) on 46th St in a straight line to 45th St, there is a vacant lot (Lot 9) that would be used for the expansion plus the sliver of Lot 10 that would be demo’ed.
