What is the maximum amount of time before an RFP winner is announced? Because there has been no official news since September 2023. Let’s see who is on the bidder list here at 45 east 45th Street.
Whether a developer/investor (or whomever the entity is) enters in multiple RFP’s is entirely up to them, but it is up to the RFP issuer to allow the proposals to be made public or not, and an RFP in this instance would not be a public one because it is a private entity, not a public one like the government. That is why I say it could have already been issued.
There are no statutes of limitations, these are just the set criteria one needs to enter into the RFP just as the winner is chosen whenever the issuee chooses a submission to move forward with.
As mentioned above, we will not see the list of bidders here because this is a private development and submissions must enter into NDA’s in almost every instance.

Are there still free air rights to plan a taller skyscraper here?
Even if there were, FAR 30 is the max you can use in regards to air rights, whether free or not in the Vanderbilt Corridor.

The National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Privatization was informed on Thursday that the privatization process for Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has resumed, while recommendations for the sale of the Roosevelt Hotel in New York have been finalized.
Regarding the Roosevelt Hotel, the committee was informed that a subcommittee has prepared new recommendations for its privatization. The next steps will be taken after approval from the Cabinet Committee on Privatization (CCoP).
He added that revenue from the hotel’s privatization is expected to be lower than a joint venture but could still generate significant income. “The final decision will rest with the government,” he clarified.
The secretary noted that a joint venture approach would delay the privatization process, whereas a direct sale could expedite proceedings.

Some of these requirements are significant. And the issue I have right now is not tariffs. The issue I have right now is delivering 1,500,000 to 2,000,000 square feet of brand new Class A, one Vanderbilt like style office space to the most sophisticated base of tenants in the country that want to grow. And I’m as committed to that today as I was in December.

What Khan plans to do with control of the site isn’t fully clear. The venture would look for approval to build a 1.3-million-square-foot property on the site by taking advantage of air rights. The use of the tower, however, was not disclosed.
