garish lighting scheme like this belongs in Shanghai
NYC can absorb and handle it. We’re not some classical European city nor are we a museum.
In all honestly it fits right into the theme of America: constant rampant consumerism and capitalism, all flash and no substance. Can’t think of a better home for such a building. The fact that the most well lit building in NYC is a damn bank says a lot about the state of our country, no? There is no god, only the mighty dollar. It’s what Americans truly worship.
Exactly. Makes me wonder when Americans decided biggest wasnt best anymore. Countries across the world are beating the US in infrastructure, skyscrapers, transit; and it seems like Americans have collectively decided to concede defeat. Its baffling.
8 trees have been brought into the Madison Avenue entrance plaza!
Also huge murals and LED screens have been brought into the lobby.
One of the panes of glass was broken on the 47th street side in the lobby.
Well put.
Ha nice right just after I ranted about it being emblematic of America. The flag does look dope from the East/West but not sure it translates well on the North/South. Perhaps a more graphical representation of the stars/stripes instead of a literal flag would look better.
Hmmm. Wil they be able to fix the parts not working? They’ve been out for a while.
This is a giant terrorist target.
Most things are.
We need about 20 more towers of this size and brightness.
They are coming, in time.
I agree. This may be a good look into the future of the NYC skyline…

I flew back into Newark last night and saw 270 lit. It’s by far the brightest-lit tower in all of NYC and easily stood out because of this. We need more towers like this.
The Age of Ramses
I just flew into JFK and could immediately identify it, even way out off the LI coast. A welcome addition to our nighttime skyline, IMO.
