NEW YORK | 270 Park Ave | 1,389 FT | 70 FLOORS

Marketing, they inflate the floor count. They say 3 World Trade Center is 80 stories…but it truly has 68 floors. They also say Central Park Tower has 131 floors…it has 102 floors

Well yeah I figured that much, but where is the 70 floors being mentioned from was more what I was wondering about. I’ve only seen 60 floors in recent articles, though it’s hard to know which articles are talking vanity numbering vs actual, but either way this tower doesn’t really need to market at all since it’s not trying to find tenants.

I hate to go off topic, but why do you always direct reply to my posts when they are not directed at me, do you do this for everyone every time you reply to a thread for a general post? It’s kind of bothersome to receive notifications that don’t involve me. Use the blue “reply” button if your post is not directed at anyone.

North side facade has turned the corner onto Park Ave, this portion of cladding is the only portion that is moving at the moment. Cladding on the south side has remained stagnant for a few weeks. The Madison Ave side hasn’t moved either since the platform was removed. A lot more backup structure has also been installed for the intermediate level of the tabletop and I imagine we will see that cladding (and possibly the fan column cladding) be put on very soon, probably on the north side first since it has been notably fireproofed already.

Love the way the facade looks in my last image, it was catching/reflecting the last bit of sun left before sunset.

These shots make me imagine this scenario;

Fall 2024. Minutes before sunset, 270 Park is suddenly glowing as dimming sunlight shimmers across the facade. It’s further accented by LEDs built within the metal paneling, tracing the shape of the building from trop to bottom. Just as the sun falls below the horizon, 270 Park glows a bright orange; the last beacon to cast its light on the glittering city around it. As one walks to the entrance, they notice the top sections glowing in random pulsating colors. Day or night, few can deny the appeal of 270 Park!

Per; @industrialtractorparts on Instagram: "The midtown section of New York City’s Park Avenue is home to many of America’s leading businesses including banks and law firms. But when you are in construction, these are the things you notice: Two excavators between 54th and 55th Streets taking a rest from their demolition work. Do you see the sign that says Passenger Cars Only? Apparently this Canadian truck driver didn’t and he paid the price. @jpmorgan building hasn’t topped out yet but they’re starting to add the glass facade on the lower floors giving us a hint of how it will look with its exposed steel frame. #parkavenue #demolition #excavator #excavators #bigrig #bigrigs #270park #270parkave #270parkavenue #jpmorgan #jpmorganchase"

I just realized this is going to pretty much kill the downtown views for 432 Park! :rofl:

Yeah. I thought they were originally going to put the observation deck in the crown. Would’ve been so much cooler.

More like 2027 for the LEDs lol. I’m still waiting on the finished lighting on 425 Park. Central Park tower? 111 West 57th?

Maybe, but JP Morgan does have more control over this project than an average tenant, so they might want their building finished sooner

It’s just wishful thinking, but you’re right; those towers have yet to be fully lit after being “completed” and open to tenants :anguished: Meanwhile, the TSX tower @ Times Square seems to have figured out its lights :dotted_line_face:

Well like half the point of the TSK tower is the lights

We have reached the next setback with these columns.

Indeed it has! We can even see one of the enormous nodes for the mech/outrigger floor at the setback level. Hoping to be able to get some close ups from the ground of the top this weekend.:+1:

We’ve also reached 800 feet.
