NEW YORK | 180 East 88th Street | 521 FT | 31 FLOORS

Well that’s a shame. Hope the redesign isn’t too drastic and hopefully construction will resume soon enough.

The zoning requirements there are ludicrous. While the wealthy Nimbys near by are celebrating the construction workers pictured are out of work for the time being. These are the same Nimbys that say there should be affordable housing… just not near them.

Councilman Ben Kallos and the Manhattan borough president, Gale A. Brewer, who are Democrats and who sent a letter to the city last week flagging the zoning irregularities at the building site and requesting a stop-work order, praised the city’s decision. “I am glad we won before it was too late,” Mr. Kallos said.

Are they talking about the shadows?

I support Ben for the things he’s doing in the hood but this is a No No. Lol. I’m not happy about this. I think ultimately, DOB will approve the permit.
