LOS ANGELES | 333 S. Figueroa Street | 1,108 FT | 77 FLOORS

Dare I say… LA’s next supertall? Certainly a tall one, if not.

Earlier today, an application was submitted to the City of Los Angeles to convert the L.A. Grand Hotel Downtown at 333 S. Figueroa Street into 224 apartments. A case filing also indicates plans for the addition of a 77-story tower to the property that will feature a 599-room hotel, 242 condos, 28,705 square feet of commercial space, and 36,674 square feet of hotel amenities.

Can anyone find anything more current? Would love to see LA’s new tallest completed before the Olympics

This is effectively dead, as the developers got caught up in the FBI’s corruption sting against Jose Huizar.

Damn. But the site should still be good right? Can’t another developer take over?

Yeah, it’s pretty prime, especially with a new subway stop opening nearby. I expect the hotel to get redeveloped, I just have no idea whether we’ll see something this big.

Hopefully something large rises here. And I know it’s sort of arbitrary but I’d prefer it by the Olympics.

Lots of large skyscrapers going up in that time period.
Lots of transit projects
Big venues are being completed
Infrastructure around the city is being renovated

The Olympics are gonna be a new introduction for LA to the world. Let’s hope they can get that homeless problem under control by then

I wish they’d pick a different city than LA because they’ve already done the Olympics twice there.

I like LA but still
