The problem is NIMBYs who force the construction of more parking than what would be built otherwise.
Zoning Review Application submitted last week. Once that is approved, the construction permits will be submitted.
Someone told me this week that they talked to a construction worker on the 107 Morgan site recently and the worker said construction is slated to start Sept 2026. Does anyone know if that means they’d start demolition work on the parking lot a few months before that?
Pile driver showed up last week but it doesn’t look like permits have been issued (@apophenic can confirm as I’m not that good at searching JCs permit site). The last entry I see was in Jan 2024 when the parking lot operator changed it’s business status to “closed”
The permit for the footings and foundation were issued in September of last year so they’re good to go.
Yea I still have trouble navigating the JC permit search - it’s confusing! Getting a closer look at the machine on site it looks more like a drill than a pile driver. And there are no pilings on site.
There’s a meeting next week with LCOR to show the construction plans to the residents in the nearby buildings. They will review the concrete truck routes in/out and staging areas (idling and spinning). Develop a distro list for abnormal hours and overnight work. Basically review the workflow and each stage of the project. They’re finally going to start building ![]()
