@robertwalpole check these out.
Beautiful!
Plans still show 493 FT, but FAA approved 544 FT.
ODA is bringing heat to Fort Lauderdale.
I love S Fla., but these massive parking podiums that all the new towers sit on look horrendous.
It’s the parking requirement that forces developers to building giant parking podiums, sometimes 7-9 stories tall lol
I know.
I believe that this occurs in virtually every US city except for NY, DC, and maybe Boston. These huge podiums detract from American cities.
In Philly, I believe the tallest parking garage is the Amtrak garage right next to Cira Center. Very few standout now, and a lot have been demolished in the past decades. Somi 1620 is literally rising from the former site of a pre-war parking garage. But Philly is still demanding parking as well, and most new projects have parking in their basement
Underground parking is good. It avoids these ridiculous, massive podiums that you see in virtually all US “cities” (e.g., Atlanta, Dallas, Houston, Miami, etc.).
We need something textured like this in New York. Something unique and textured like this.
