Visionary and Cancelled Projects & Proposals | Discussion

Lol why is Times Squared 3015 on this list? That wasn’t an actual proposal. It was an entry in the Evolo skyscraper competition that they hold every year.

Can anyone find a rendering or something for the Cintas Tower? That interests me more than the others…

Number three is what we are getting. Just the base and crown were tweaked to what we currently have proposed.

The first architect’s design of the Empire State Building in 1930 with only 50 floors.

Waldorf Astoria Hotel?

A planned 75-story commercial building in the Grand Central Zone.

The Merchandise Mart Chicago was originally planned to have up to 75 floors.

A Vision? or a proposed?

The Mandragore in New York 2418 feet tall.

As far as I know, that’s just a vision. Not a real proposal. Not that it would make much financial sense as a real proposal anyway.
If it was though, it would be amazing. Kinda like the aqua tower in Chicago.

Rendering by Brenna Fransen and Jihoon Kim.
A 1100 meters taller skyscraper proposed for the 57th street corridor.
Would be a very interesting project today.

Would be very interesting and impressive for this to be built

Would be interesting and would definitely fit in with this rendering

Though I don’t know how you’d sell that.
Even with 57th streets ridiculous prices, a building that tall and large simply isn’t economically feasible with luxury apartments alone. It would have to be mixed use, probably a large tenant, hotels, retail at the bottom, and ofc there would still be luxury apartments.

Massive. Say a perspective developer had the money, is this technically possibility to build? Ya know like in the zoning and far and all that.
