TEXAS | High Speed Rail

Clearly there is a need for this project.

People in the cities want progress and high speed transportation. People in the rural areas between often want to stop such progress out of spite (and politics), so they’ll fight it every step of the way. This, of course, does not include all rural people, and maybe not even a majority, but there are certainly enough of them to make such projects difficult. Remember, this is Texas.

I’m sure five hundred Gs will pay for a huge chunk of this project - maybe two millimeters?

“to further study and develop a proposed high-speed railway between Houston and Dallas, a long-envisioned plan that until earlier this year had appeared to have fizzled out.”

It’s crazy how they tell you exactly what the money is gonna be used for.

I wonder if this will ever end up being built.

Seeing how they sold land they acquired for this project, doubtful.

I think it’s already dead in the water.

It refuses to die…

Isn’t this considered the ideal distance for train trips, around 300 miles?
