Ultimately, I wouldn’t be surprised as well if the mall sells for under 1 billion. The mall’s layout is a bit confusing and I will admit that the lack of a food court like Brookfield does make it less appealing.

The oculus doesn’t have a food court? That seems like a bad plan

Nope, there’s not a “central” food court as one would find in a traditional mall, but there are several eateries along the various tunnel wings of the concourse, and of course the ground floor options at 3 and 4 WTC that are still considered as part of the mall.

The old mall at WTC never did that well. It’s a transfer point and people don’t want to spend time there.

There was a YouTube clip recently showing the floor of the Oculus crumbling. Sad.

Thought this was pretty cool. Various rail lines superimposed to show where they are at. In general how important the WTC and Fulton station are for transit.

Pardon my bluntness, but why the fuck do so many websites have this blocker up. Do they really need to make a quick buck just for me to read an article for two mintues

We all work for money. But information can be provided freely

Egh, to a certain point, information coming from the internet isn’t always free, that’s why subscriptions exist and pages like Wikipedia are always asking for small donations, because they have bills to pay as well or they can not provide that information for “free” to the public. I generally did not know the Curbed article had a pay wall or blocker, I didn’t get one upon opening it or any other Curbed articles.

But on the Oculus topic, I agree with GSPLover, it’s sad how many problems have come up with this structure since it’s inception basically.

Curbed gives a monthly allowance on freebies now.

I love this site:

Copy and paste the url into the search bar and you get the text version of articles behind paywalls. it usually works but not every single time. :slightly_smiling_face:

Anyone know if they ever plan on fixing the skylight or are they just going to leave that ugly looking tape on it for good? 4 billion dollars to just let it stay broken? It needs a good scrubbing and repainting as well. It’s such a marvelous structure it deserves to be well maintained.
