On my commute home I did notice the lighting looked pretty different so I think this may be the final form. A little disappointing in the brightness from afar but still looks nice.

edit: wow they can make the spire sparkle like the ESB does. And the beacon at the top can blink.

I like the detail in the edge lighting. Ok my opinion of this has gone up significantly.

Also, it’s embarrassing how another beacon on the skyline will outshine One WTC. Management of the building that replaced an iconic part of our skyline straight up doesn’t give two deuces about the spire or nighttime lighting.

That’s nice. I wish any of that were visible to the naked eye from Brooklyn. This thing just disappears in the skyline from a distance.

Awesome tower. The first of many to come thanks to Bloomberg’s/De Blasio’s Midtown East rezoning.

There were two tall towers (over 1,000 feet) in Midtown- ESB and Chrysler- for the longest time.

Now there are 8.

Before you know it, there will be 25.
