Not just yellow, but much brighter than I’ve ever seen it before. I have a clear view of this building from my apartment. Before last night, I could barely see the spire at night. Last night it was plainly visible. Now I hope they proceed with brighter lighting for the rest of the crown.

“ SL Green Realty Corp. (NYSE: SLG), Manhattan’s largest office landlord, today announced a pair of new leases at One Vanderbilt Avenue, the recently opened skyline-defining tower in the heart of East Midtown. Walker & Dunlop, LLC, a premier commercial real estate finance company, has signed a 16,614-square-foot, seven-year lease for a portion of the 33rd floor. Separately, a financial services firm has signed a 26,770-square-foot, 15-year lease for the entire 55th floor. Combined, the leases raise leased occupancy at One Vanderbilt to 73%.”

The pop out windows at the observation level don’t look good and are very noticable from Bryant Park and from 42nd St. I get why they would do gimmicky stuff like this for an observation deck but it takes away from the overall beauty of the building.

Only incredibly noticable right now because they have white panels inside against the windows for the flooring of the observation floors. This happened with One Manhattan West too

I agree, too much going on on that top. I also don’t think the ultra clear glass looks good compared to the rest of the tower

Looks like the crown lighting is finally starting to come together for real

I don’t know, it seems to be the same brightness. I see it in person going home sometimes and it’s still just going back and forth between a faint warm and cool white.

I think a lot of nighttime pictures are slightly overexposed and makes it appear brighter than IRL. So I still can’t figure out if the parts of the lantern that are lit are at 100%.

The spire on the other hand looks great and bright enough.

Ehhh… From where I am in Brooklyn, with a clear view of the whole midtown Manhattan skyline, I can’t see ANY of the spire/crown lighting on 1V. Literally none. The Empire State Building and Chrysler Building are lit up clear as day, but all I can see of 1V is the FAA light at the top of the spire, and the construction lights on lower floors. That’s it. If they intend to have any actual crown lighting at all, it needs to be WAY brighter.
