Looks like it
Brooklyn’s twin towers ?
I did like the old design better.
makes up for baiting us with the original design
They could have retained the original donut concept with possibly a connecting piece over the two towers. The difference I would make is use a large oval cutout in the top to mimic what is seen on the podium level (as well as the balconies). It would have been cool—like a super modern Pantheon.
1200 units. Nice.
wow… very nice and interesting!
I can accept redesigns more easily when the materials used and the craftsmanship are top-notch. Still a way to go but I like it so far.
Hot damn
Between the quality of the concrete and the curved glass, it gives me Herzog & de Meuron vibes.
I think it could surprise us.
280 Kent, nice. ![]()
That facade is a beauty; the curved glass, cast concrete balconies, the round openings, all make for a very ‘textured’ and opulent look.
Modernist architectural designs are too often boring, boxy, glassy - this modern Architectural design has it all form (beauty) & function.
There was clearly a lot of thought given to the ‘functional’ aspects of the building as well: this excerpt addresses the functional considerations of facade.
Excerpt from Front.gobal article linked above -
The exterior is further articulated by cast-in-place concrete balconies incorporating structural thermal breaks. These balconies feature large oval openings and curved glass balustrades, introducing a sculptural quality that enhances light penetration, outward views, and the overall rhythm of the façade.
End quote.
Shouldn’t the separate 280 Kent thread be merged with this one?
Are they actually putting up the cocoon?

Same with Hudson Yards, technically…
