Hochul sucks. She tried to kill congestion pricing in its entirety so I’m not surprised she’s trying to water it down as much as possible considering she bends over for the wealthy suburbanites who can easily afford the toll.
While that surcharge would be nice, I’m still grateful we have _something_ at this time.

Agree with you, but wouldn’t the wealthy suburbanites _want_ this toll? It makes their drives into the city more pleasant and all they have to do is pay a simple $9 toll. In fact, they wouldn’t have minded the original $15 toll either.
In my opinion the toll should have been $20, considering the toll is £15 in London, and New York and it’s people are generally a) less likely to use transit and b) wealthier than Londoners on average.

Some are saying the outcome is uncertain _but_ the MTA says they are still set to start charging drivers this weekend. New Jersey continues to grasp at straws to try and delay it, however. _They refuse to give up their crusade against congestion pricing._
