Sarcastically I would say she has no strategy.
But realistically, I think she knows she has no valid arguments in court for her to win, so maybe she is just waiting for the court to rule against her and she can just blame the courts and not herself for the high toll fees.
The state has until Friday to prove their case but I do not believe they have any real hard facts to counter the immense study that was already made on the topic.

I’m mildly unhappy about it, but honestly, it’s better than nothing. $9 is better than _no_ congestion pricing. I’m sure whoever replaces Hochul and once Trump’s gone for good will increase it from $9.

I really don’t see how this goes into effect by the end of the decade given all the outstanding litigation.

The results of the public hearing and MTA board hearing regarding the fate of congestion pricing is in: They said **YES** to congestion pricing. We are one step closer to having it ready by the anticipated January 5th start date. Also, by 2031, they will raise the price to $15. I’ll take it!

So glad this is back and there’s a timeline to get back up to $15. But I’m dubious about the program’s survival with republicans taking 100% control of all federal branches the next day. Trump has specifically called this one out as a target.

It is a 15 day gap.
I imagine if they bond it out before inauguration that the potential litigation from bond holders would blunt much of the appetite to roll this back.

I doubt that. When the bonds are sold there are all sorts of risk factors listed in the offering documents, including those related to governmental intervention, etc.
Investors who purchase the securities assume the risk. Litigation won’t get them far.

The feds said “YES” to congestion pricing. Starting hopefully by January 5th, drivers will have to pay the fee. However, we aren’t clear yet - Trump or lawsuits can make things difficult again.
