This is a good point. I have recently read that the design concept DFM originated in manufacturing is being applied to Architectural design by many of Americas leading architects.
Thomas Juul-Hansen (550 West 21st Street) comes to mind; but there are many more who are currently using this DMF process as a key design principal for their Architectural creations.
