It’s a remnant of the colonial period in Hong Kong. The original hotel was called The Oriental. The company and family that runs it owe their wealth to pushing opium on China. Pretty dirty stuff. ---

I hope that the sales here and at the Crown building yield such extreme prices which, in turn, prompt more development in and around Fifth. ---
