I presume that this will be the final footprint shape (or first floor above ground). Am I right that the two north and southwest tiers will be square with the west face?

Gotcha, I coped and pasted my Minecraft 2 WTC build to make the new version…and I was pretty confused on this. Also based on the renderings, the new lobby should have a lot more open space compared to the past design

There’s only about 750sf or so of additional lobby area, not a great deal much to what was already a large lobby, but still an addition nonetheless.

I meant specifically open space as the open air mass. Yes the footprint and base will be slightly larger, but I was referring to the space that allows more natural light and wide space. Unlike the original Foster design, it looks like the new design will be more open around the western half of the core

I’m not sure I’m following.
The new lobby layout is like this in terms of perimeter shape, the only real difference besides the notches being infilled is that there is no longer elevator banks on the north and south sides.
The western lobby doors in the original design are probably being replaced by a vestibule and/or revolving doors, they would still relatively take up the same space that was taken up by the notch. I would argue that theres less direct light reaching the core because the notches have been infilled and the large overhang at the top of the lobby volume makes the depth from the perimeter to the core even greater, also the overhangs on the western volume.

As was shown in the October 2024 renders I leaked and in the final version, the lobby gains extra space also thanks to the erasure of existing stairways from subgrade (will they merge them with the ones evacuating the office tower?

Those stairs/and single elevator seem to be a connection to the underground mall, in addition to the escalator, so they probably weren’t connected to the egress stairs.

They are indeed from subgrade, like I said.
But something will have to replace it, hence i’m suggesting that they will connect to the egress stairs now.
Based on old plans in my possesion, these shafts are empty and ready underneath (currently used for temporary mech systems).

They dont necessarily have/need to be replaced. The egress stairs already egressed the subgrade levels, the single stair and elevator were not functioning in the same capacity as means of egress.
Makes sense, C3 and C4 seem to use that same egress:
But the purpose of the soon-to-be-gone egress was to serve the mall separately, and that’ll come to an end now.
