It’s funny that they say “these buildings” and not “this building.” Now I’m picturing a two building development for the lot like 220 CPS.
Well the main post was about the world trade center as a whole
2 and 2.5 WTC?![]()
The only real news we got on this tower this year was the leaked images you found and negotiations as stated only in the press within over the past year. What the fuck are we to believe anymore…especially 24 years after the unimaginable and inhumane attacks…how can we believe what these articles say anymore. Foster’s 2 WTC was supposed to advance in TWO THOUSAND THIRTEEN…how is there still hope. I’m personally at the very fine line of hope….but what the fuck man
I’ll be sure to retrieve updated imagery once again as soon as there any ![]()
This is moving forward but suggestively there have been some changes from the images I retrieved in May, we’ll see.
To me, “moving forward” would be cranes and construction crew on site… So far this year, it’s been nothing but speculation and more speculation as we’re as close now to it being built as we were a decade ago ![]()
theyve been saying this for years
I will say it until the day I die - 1 & 2 WTC should have been built on spec from the start no matter what. These are the successors to the twin towers - they should have received the most attention to detail and had all the red tape cut. There was no need to build 3 & 4 WTC before 2 WTC nor should there have been any value engineering done on 1 & 2 WTC. This is just pathetic. Screw the Port & Silverstein.
You’re forgetting how involved the process was, everyone had a voice. Many people including the survivors and the victims’ families were against anything other than a memorial and maybe a park. That’s what Guiliani was pushing for.
I don’t think the consensus ever was to replace exactly as before, although that was an opinion expressed. The consensus was to build back but in a way that respected the families and victims with a beautiful memorial and park, which I 100% believe was achieved, while building something for the future. Rebuilding a 1960’s design, which proved it flaws by the structures collapse, was not what anyone vested in the plan wanted.
The memorial, the park, the museum are beautiful. The transportation hub is wonderful even if it’s a little bit more extravagant than what was needed it does make a great tourist destination to compliment those coming downtown to visit the memorial.
While the WTC towers were undeniably flawed, I think any skyscraper apart from maybe ESB would have collapsed from a 400mph 767 impact. Willis tower if impacted at the same elevation probably would have collapsed immediately as it has a much smaller floor area at the highest tiers.
The impact did not cause the collapse (directly). It was the fires that weakened the steel and caused the floors to sag and pancake. And the bundled tube design of Willis Tower makes it structurally stronger and less likely to collapse.
Article about 2 and 5 wtc
This will be a 33 year lease - not a purchase of the lower half .
Press x to doubt
This is such an esoteric and niche interest/forum I don’t get the appeal of trolling and making stuff up for the hell of it.
"…what downtown really wants is news of Larry Silverstein’s talks with AmEx over a possible agreement to finally get 2 World Trade Center off the ground. Everyone with even the least awareness clams up nervously when asked about it. But after two previous non-binding agreements at the site fell through, don’t expect to hear anything credible until a contract is signed with no escape clause”
