I wonder how this is doing
This building is utterly stunning. It would be nice if the rent-controlled garbage across the street would be redeveloped.
Really like the (copper clad sunrooms?). I think that’s what they are. This building is really beautiful. Just the right amount of embellishment. Not fussy, perfect for the neighborhood.
nice window frames go a long way to nail that prewar aesthetic. Too many of RAMSA’s work uses those pvc white ones.
Those prewar buildings and the RAMSA classics do look lovely; and those multi-pane window are part of the ‘classic/historic’ aesthetic for sure. The grid of mullions does obstruct much in terms of light and view: more than one would think.
Here is the inconvenient truth: when those windows are replaced with a single solid pane of glass, the ‘functional’ improvement is massive. This is being done on a lot of classic/traditional building where it is not probated by the landmark preservation laws.
The unobstructed views out, the slightly more light coming in, significantly better in terms of function, but aesthetically/architecturally it is a less ‘authentic’ or ‘decorative’ appearance.
This looks great. What an improvement to this block.
Are those parking lanes? Why won’t the city expand the Lexington sidewalks? It’s insane that pedestrians are so crowded on these tiny sidewalks, with subway grates taking up much of the space. Lex can have one lane for standard vehicle traffic, one lane for buses, and the rest should be sidewalk and maybe a bike lane.
This building is magnificent.
This building looks market rate -
