That may not mean what you think it means. Thus looks like a very typical BMU setup to me. Most tall buildings have BMU tracks running down the sides, they’re just very thin and between the windows. It’s just where the hanging platform hooks in so it’s not swinging around in the wind and smashing into the building. ---

111 Murray notably lacked these rails and it did exactly that— smashed about a half dozen windows and the shards had to be raked off the West Side Highway during morning rush ---

Excellent shots. Dynamic, rich. That 2nd shot is surreal. How the light casts on One57, and the big players aligned almost in a linear fashion. Possibly the light serving as a reminder that One57 is still there, being over\*\*“shadowed”\*\* by the monoliths. The golden light casted reminisce of One 57 being the god father that brought creation to all the other super talls we are seeing on this corridor. Like father like son, the father brought life to the other super talls, growing to become bigger and better than he was. That’s how I interpret this shot. Thanks Chris - Lucky this time of year that it is still light out when I get out of work. Last night was the Museum Mile and 5th avenue was shut down for the event…too bad it wasn’t closed as far down as 57th street because that second shot was almost the last one I ever took - the traffic cop blew his whistle just as a crosstown bus was bearing down on me as I was framing that up.
