839-Foot Tower Proposed For Oko Property Across From Brickell City Centre > Another near supertall tower may be coming soon to Brickell. > > On August 22, plans were filed with the Federal Aviation Administration to build a tower that will rise 834 feet above ground, or 839 feet above sea level. Review by the agency is now underway. > > Those plans are significantly taller than the 712-foot tower once proposed for the site, known as 830 Brickell. The developers had previously said it would include 70 stories of luxury residential and retail. > > The tower would be built across from Brickell City Centre. Russian developer Oko Group, which is also developing the 649-foot Missona Baia tower and the 579-foot Una tower, owns the property. > > Last year, the developer demolished a structure on the site (a Chicken Kitchen building remains on the property, but is slated for demolition). I absolutely love Miami, but its residents act like utter yokels when a company moves 100 back office people there and they react like they’re going to displace Wall Strert or Silicon alley. No one would even blink about Microsoft leasing 50k sf in New York. ---
