I’m a big fan of this building overall but the choice to change the facade on the west side halfway up the tower is a strange option
Agreed, it’s awful. The change in facade in the front is much better. But since this side isn’t facing the “view” I’m sure that’s why it was value engineered.

This building looks so good from NY. It’s a shame it looks so bad from NJ.
Taken earlier this evening. Exterior work on the front entrance is looking great. I’m really not a fan of the backside of this however…
I agree. It would have been nice if the stonework dissipated as it climbed—like the side facing the city. Or even if the stonework continued with the same widths towards the top, it would have been an improvement.
Edit: wanted to add that I think it’s a nice tower still. Would like to see the crown lit soon.
