JC YIMBY forumers, keep an eye out on this one—there’s construction equipment on site and part of the site is fenced off. However there’s a townhouse already on the site that would need to be demolished before this could begin construction. ---

The construction equipment started demoing a small auxiliary structure on the site today. But I spoke with the owner of the bodega/smoke shop on the ground floor of the townhouse. He confirmed that theyre getting ready to demo the townhouse , but not for another 2 or 3 months. So you’ve got a while to stock up on smoke-shop goodies before this begins construction 😉 ---

Agreed. Actually it’s interesting, they’ve done a bunch of interviews with store owners in this series and they generally feel the same way. ---

They have started test piling and they have already demolished one of the two buildings on the site. Counts as progress. Thanks chris, but I should mention that the piles and the driver were just being delivered yesterday. They hadn’t started actually driving them into the ground yet (though the locations where the piles will go were marked off with stakes). Wish I’d taken photos but my cell phone always dies at moments like that! Probably gonna be a couple of weeks before actual piles in the ground, I imagine. ---
