This is a proposal for the site at the SE corner of Grand and Marin. There isn’t 100% affordable housing and enough parking for the entire neighborhood, that’s gonna be a no from me. Also that looks higher than 2 stories, might block my views of the neighborhood walls. Sorry gonna have to shoot this down. ---

I noticed this evening that there is an excavator on the lot facing Grand St (next to the Golden Cicada). Looks like it had dug several holes today. They haven’t filed the zoning review application that’s necessary before they can apply for building permits, so they’re not starting in the next few months at least. If I had to guess, it looks like they removed an underground heating oil tank. Hopefully it wasn’t leaking, or else they’ll have to do months of environmental remediation. ---

Historically this property had at least nine different structures and each structure mightve had its own a separate oil tank. Looking at the city permit site it looks like oddly the permit to demolish the “3 bay garage” was issued but not the one to demolish the Cicada. @apophenic am I seeing that right? Also it doesn’t look like permits for building have even been submitted yet, correct. ---

No, that’s the correct permit you saw. The 3 bay garage was the Cicada. Permits for the new building have not yet been submitted. But typically, DOB needs the demolition to be finished and the demo permit closed before new construction permits can be issued. ---

Does anyone know if the school’s football field will be extended another 10 yards or so to make it an official length? I was asked this at a holiday party but didn’t know the answer. ---
