Marion PATH station only a matter of time then?

There are a few mockup on the website. https://www.westsidesquare.com

Looks nice! Although that “piazza” with mixed car and pedestrian traffic looks like a downgrade.

This and the PATH extension to EWR are the NJ equivalent of the Second Avenue Subway. There’s been feasibility studies and the PATH can’t even improve existing service, so I don’t think this will happen anytime soon, despite potentially being very easy to just put an island platform that can be reached via an above-track walkway.

I agree however it seems like developers might be paying for it so all PATH would need to do is get out of the way and let it happen!

Unfortunately developers are not paying for it. Port Authority doesn’t like the idea of a Marion PATH station because it would slow down trains between Harrison and Journal Sq too much. But even if they were fine with it, all sorts of environmental impact studies and engineering studies would need to be done that would take years. And on top of that, these projects aren’t valuable enough to cross-subsidize the multi-hundred-million-dollar cost for a PATH station unfortunately.

There should be more PATH Stations in Jersey City . PATH in New Jersey is like a commuter railroad, with infrequent stops, but once it gets into Midtown Manhattan it becomes a transit system with stops every 6-10 blocks apart. If there were another station or two it would give Jersey City residents another transportation option. A Marion station would give residents an in city option to commute to Newark, Hoboken or Downtown Jersey City.

Other renderings taken from the site @itspaul found, for those who didn’t click through. Love how users on this this tiny forum scoop news websites on this stuff regularly!

The new phase would be 18 stories and 359 units.
